NOTICE OF INTENDED BUSINESS OPERATIONS
DURING CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) OUTBREAK
As of now, Teamsters Local 89 will continue its full operations during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Operations will continue subject to any future federal and/or state order. Therefore, the union hall will keep its regularly scheduled hours. We are simply asking that members call prior to visiting the building as there may be situations where office staffing is reduced. All Business Agents will continue to be available at workplaces and through telephone and electronic communication to address member concerns.
"We are closely monitoring this outbreak and seeking guidance from federal, state, and local authorities,” said Fred Zuckerman, Teamsters Local 89 President. "As long as conditions permit us to do so, we intend keep the union hall open for ‘business as usual’. However, we understand that this is a fluid situation unlike any other we have faced in several decades. This is why we must be constantly diligent in placing the health and well-being of our members, agents, and staff above all else. Unfortunately, that may include future modifications to our present operational plans”
