Mar 13, 2020 - As mentioned yesterday in our initial comments about the Coronavirus Disease 2019, or COVID-19, Teamsters Local 89 has been working to determine what steps are being taken by employers to protect our members health and safety during this outbreak.
Throughout the week, Business Agents have been directly communicating with their company counterparts, and many of them have already gathered details about the plans being put in place in their specific shops.
In addition to the work our Business Agents have already put in, we have also sent out an official information request from President Zuckerman to all of our employers, asking for their plans and encouraging them to follow all State, Governor, and CDC guidelines in relation to COVID-19.
Going forward, Local 89 will continue to update our members with general information that becomes available. For shop specific information, your Business Agents will be your primary source. Please stay in close contact with them and your shop floor Stewards for updates on your specific place of employment.
