Teamsters Local 89 strongly condemns UPS’s latest attack on the healthcare benefits of its non-union workforce.   We believe this is yet another shameful move by the Company to maximize profits at great expense to its employees and their families. 

We call on UPS to immediately cease its campaign against the healthcare and economic stability its non-union workforce.  While these employees may be unable to speak out of fear of reprisal from the company, we will gladly and publicly continue to condemn UPS for these shameful actions.   Just as Teamster members, these workers are a vital component to the longevity and continued success of the company.  UPS enjoys billions in profits, yet raids the livelihoods of thousands of its most economically vulnerable employees.   This is inexcusable. 

Local 89’s mission is to stand against injustice wherever it may arise.  Regardless of union affiliation or not, we will stand against exploitation and abuse of workers whenever and wherever necessary.  Regardless of our differences, we give our hands in solidarity to these UPS employees and their families.
