Local 89 members voted overwhelmingly this weekend to reject the latest proposed UPS Freight agreement. In a very sizable turn out of 79% of eligible voters, 92 voted no and just 7 voted yes. The voting was conducted at two separate meetings in Bowling Green and Louisville.
In the explanation meeting prior to the vote, members expressed their frustration and anger with the failure of Ken Hall’s negotiating committee to resolve the many issues and concerns still facing UPS Freight Teamsters. This dissatisfaction was reflected in the vote to reject the agreement by 93%.
Teamsters across the country are voting at their union halls this weekend in the national referendum. We hope to have an accurate vote count soon. We will let you know as soon as the national results are available.
